An Overview of the Game

As we said before, this game takes elements of the action-adventure genre to the next level. It's a team-based game with a great plot and setting — the wild and exotic universe of Farscape.

The game is full real-time 3-D set in lush, weird, alien environments unlike anything seen on a computer screen before. Farscape creator Rockne S. O'Bannon's challenge to us was to do things that could not be done in the show, and we have really taken this inspiration to heart!

[ CRITTERS ] Our story begins with the living ship, Moya, stranded in orbit around a small planet in a far corner of the Uncharted Territories. Her crew members are unwillingly caught up in a war, but find that they must stop a mysterious threat to the stability of the galaxy before it's too late.

All six main characters from the first season are playable, including:

At any time, the player can directly control any character in a team of three drawn from the six members of Moya's crew.

Each character has different skills — such as Tech, Healing, Negotiation and even Theft — which are used to complete the missions as the plot unfolds. Play begins with Crichton and Chiana crash-landed on the planet. As the plot progresses, the rest of the team is unlocked and made available for play.

[ CRITTERS ] The team-play aspect of the game is very cool. In the series, the crew members have a strong tendency to bicker and argue about what to do next. We decided to use these character quirks to add to the fun of the gameplay.

For example, in the show, Rygel has a bit of an attitude, which does not endear him to the rest of the crew. In the game he'll be just as irritating to his colleagues, and at one point will even desert them at a time of need. (They later get their revenge by pushing him down a dark and creepy tunnel to search for an escape route!).

As the game is heavily combat-based, it also features the familiar weapons of the Farscape universe, such as the Pulse Pistol and Pulse Rifle, as well as a whole host of new ones with some pretty cool firing modes.

We have also created more than 35 new alien species and are incorporating a host of regulars from the show. We can't tell you too much about that yet, though!
