There were only four of us left on Moya and no one could keep from worrying. D'Argo, Aeryn, Crichton, & Moya's newborn child Talyn were all lost or possibly dead in the nearby asteroid field. In this preoccupied state, Moya's systems failed to function properly and we were ill equipped to handle any unforeseen circumstances that might arise. Since The Uncharted Territories teem with unforeseen circumstances, it became quite clear to Moya and I that our own survival depended on discovering what happened to Talyn and our missing crewmates.

Returning to the asteroid field, Moya heard the anguished cry of Talyn and rushed to protect her child. Instead of finding the young Leviathan hybrid, however, we discovered a lone PK Prowler carrying Crichton and his prisoner, Captain Crais. We were all pleased to find the Human alive and soon learned that D'Argo and Aeryn also survived the events surrounding the destruction of Scorpius' Gammak Base (see "Family Ties"). Soon the entire crew was reunited. It was good to have them all back on board.

Crichton explained that he had recently apprehended Crais aboard the young Leviathan hybrid. Crais was undermining Aeryn's natural bond with Talyn by systematically brainwashing the confused child into believing that Crais was his only true friend. So when Crichton forcibly removed Crais from his bridge, Talyn let out the desperate cry that Moya had detected.

As we homed in on Talyn, Moya found that her frightened child no longer trusted her. Too many people had been telling him too many conflicting things and now the scared ship refused to believe anyone but Crais, demanding that the PK captain be returned to him at once. Aeryn might have been able to reason with the young Leviathan hybrid but there was no time. Scorpius' Command Carrier had suddenly emerged from hiding and bore down on us. Unless we delivered Crais to Talyn immediately, Scorpius would capture us all. Moya was faced with a terrible decision: Sacrifice her only son to Crais, or sacrifice us all to the Peacekeepers.
