"They've Got a Secret"
Even when one escapes the Peacekeepers (and one almost never does), they still find ways to make things difficult. One recent systems sweep designed to ferret out any lingering PK devices was intended to protect us from harm, but, as is often the case, this seemingly routine task precipitated some rather extreme and unforeseen consequences.
While surveying Tier 21, D'Argo stumbled across a Peacekeeper retaining shield. In his haste to remove the offending object, the Luxan destroyed the shield and was blasted out into space by the ensuing explosion.
By the time the crew brought him back on board, D'Argo was unconscious and near death. After Zhaan revived him, he suffered from hallucinations. He became convinced that Rygel, Zhaan and Crichton were actually people from his own, carefully guarded past. He imagined Rygel was his infant son, Jothee; Zhaan he saw as Lo'Lann, his dead wife; and Crichton he cast in the role of Macton the Sebacean man who, out of jealousy and bigotry, murdered Lo'Lann and framed D'Argo for the crime.
As if D'Argo's delusions weren't disturbing enough, I was having perception problems of my own. The explosion he caused had released an unidentified biomechanoid substance into Moya's body that caused uncontrollable systemwide shutdowns. Moreover, my own body was not immune to the malfunctions. Cut off from my nutrients, I grew unable to perform my normal duties and soon lost consciousness.
Aeryn Sun took my place and was surprisingly successful at interfacing with Moya, considering the limitations of her Sebacean physiognomy. Despite her valiant efforts, all of Moya's systems continued to falter. With the air rapidly thinning, a delusional D'Argo reliving his family tragedy, me still unconscious and even the DRDs working against us, the situation was desperate. The rest of the crew needed to root out the cause of the malfuncutions and restore Moya's life-support systems before our living vessel became our drifting tomb....
