VORC
A Vorc is a small, defenseless creature with well-honed senses. While it is not intelligent enough to use language on its own, it is able to understand basic words and commands, as well as communicate simple ideas.
Vorcs are sold as parasite-hunters: Chiana purchased one for use aboard Moya. At first, the Vorc merely irritated us with its frivolous, scatterbrained behavior, but eventually it proved its worth. I was curious to learn how such a weak creature could destroy parasites once it tracked them down; then we discovered that Vorcs are shapeshifters. When it needed to attack, it simply changed into a fierce, fighting creature called a Ravorc.
I must say, the adaptability of species never ceases to amaze me.
