History Of Stargate

A Timeline of events circling the history of Stargate.
Cheyenne Mountain 1997

A few years have passed since the Stargates first use. The gate lay dormant under a tarp with a team guarding it 24/7. Cheyenne Mountain has been ordered downsized. A minimum command will be retained to protect ongoing 24 hour security for gate. During one of the guard shifts an unknown party activates the gate from off world. The team guarding the gate fall under attack by, believe to be at the time, Ra and a small army of his soldiers. The base's alarm is sounded and reinforcements attend the gate room only to find that all guarding the gate are dead and the invading party is taking captive a female guard as they exit through the gate.

Major General George Hammond (now in charge of the base at Cheyenne Mountain) gives the order that Colonel Jack O'Neill return to the base. Upon his arrival at the base Colonel O'Neill is immediately briefed on the undertaking that happened hours earlier. Colonel O'Neill and team from the first Stargate Mission are then questioned about what happened on the mission. General Hammond believes the gate on Abydos is working again assuming that the attackers came from that gate and decides on a plan of action, to send another bomb through the gate on Abydos and detonated it but is stopped by Colonel O'Neill. Colonel O'Neill reveals to General Hammond that his report from the Stargate mission was inaccurate and that Dr. Daniel Jackson was alive and living on Abydos that the inhabitants on Abydos are of no threat. Considering not sending the bomb just yet, General Hammond asks Colonel O'Neill for any suggestions. Colonel O'Neill sends an object through the gate to Abydos for Dr. Jackson and receives a form of a message back from Jackson.

0800 Hours

A mission briefing for going to Abydos sets in. Captain Samantha Carter is called in from the Pentagon for her expertise on the Stargate. The team is assembled and the mission is a go. Shortly after the team is sent through the Stargate to Abydos.

Abydos

Upon arriving at Abydos Colonel O'Neill, Captain Carter and team are greeted by Dr. Daniel Jackson and the people of Abydos. Captain Carter realizes that there had to be away to dial the gate long ago and that the Abydos dialing device for the Stargate has been found and is fascinated. Dr. Jackson is briefed about what happened at the Stargate on Earth. Dr. Jackson tells Colonel O'Neill that the "Aliens" didn't come from Abydos and shows O'Neill & Carter that there is in fact a possible Network of Stargates all over the Galaxy. Unbeknownst to Jackson, O'Neill & Carter, the Gate on Abydos is opened and the same Aliens that attacked the gate on Earth attack the inhabitants near the Abydosian gate. The "Ra-Like" alien takes Skaara and Sha're. Luckily one of the team members sees the address symbols dialed for the gate the Aliens escaped to. Colonel O'Neill and team go back to Earth with Dr. Jackson.

Cheyenne Mountain (Earth Gate)

Now that there are possible more gates out there, there is a briefing about possible future missions through the Stargate devised of 9 SG (StarGate) teams. Colonel O'Neill, Captain Samantha Carter and Dr. Daniel Jackson are placed on the team SG-1. It is also determined that there very well could be other "gods" out there and that the "Ra-Like" alien was in fact not Ra. Major Louis Ferretti regains consciousness and recalls the gate symbols used by the hostiles. The mission to rescue those taken (including Jackson's wife Sha're and O'Neill's friend Skaara) by the "Ra-Like" alien is underway lead by Colonel O'Neill's team SG-1, and Major Charles Kawalsky's team SG-2. The teams head out through the Stargate to the unknown gate address in effort to rescue those taken and held captive.

Unknown gate address later found to be named Chulak

SG teams 1 & 2 after arriving through the Stargate make camp, set claymores along the ridge of the area and begin search for those taken. SG-2 holds the positions near the gate and SG-1 head further ahead searching. SG-1 happens upon some locals who take them to the Chulak city where there the inhabitants greet them. The "Ra-Like" alien enters with soldiers and Shar'a, Dr. Jackson learns that she has been taken as host by one of the "gods" and SG-1 is then taken captive. In the holding area, Colonel O'Neill finds Skaara and meets one of the soldiers of the "Ra-Like" alien; the soldier's later found to be named Teal'c. Dr. Jackson informs Captain Carter that the "Ra-Like" aliens name is "Apophis", the Egyptian Serpent god that ruled the night.

Apophis and his soldiers make an entrance, they being to choose among the captives who will be the "Children Of The Gods". Skaara is chosen along with many others and Apophis gives the order to kill all those not selected. In an act of desperation Colonel O'Neill tells the soldier Teal'c that he can save the people asking for his help. Teal'c believes he can then sides with Colonel O'Neill and both lead a rebellion against the soldiers of Apophis saving the captives and allowing their escape.

On their way back to the Stargate Teal'c explains to Colonel O'Neill, Captain Carter and Dr. Daniel Jackson that he is a Jaffa, bread to serve so that the gods may live and that his kind carries the larva form of the gods (Goa'uld). A Goa'uld Death Glider later attacks them. SG-2 assists in bringing down the glider. Shortly after it's found that Apophis and Shar'a with soldiers have escaped through the gate and Skaara is now a host to a Goa'uld and he too heads through the gate. The gate symbol address as to where they may of gone is unknown.

Colonel O'Neill gives the order to Captain Carter and Dr. Jackson to dial home and the teams are immediately under attack by more enemy soldiers. The address back to Earth is dialed, the teams along with Teal'c and the rescued captives escape through the Stargate.

Cheyenne Mountain

The teams are back at the Stargate Command (SGC), are debriefed about their mission and Teal'c, once first prime of Apophis, joins the SG-1 team.
