THE ANCIENTS
When Moya and I detected a wormhole that apparently led to Crichton's
home planet "Earth," he insisted on flying there in his Farscape Module
despite the cautions of the rest of us. He later discovered that the
"Earth" he was visiting was an elaborate construct by a nearly extinct
group of aliens called the Ancients. Needing a new home, these aliens
thought Earth might be suitable. However, through their testing of
Crichton, they concluded that humankind wasn't yet ready for an alien
visitation.
The Ancients, perhaps as partial atonement for playing such an elaborate
ruse upon Crichton, buried information about wormhole technology so
deeply within Crichton's mind that he can't access it consciously.
Apparently, they reasoned that if Crichton wasn't intelligent enough to
discover it himself, he wasn't intelligent enough to handle the
knowledge wisely. What they gave him would serve as a guide... nothing
more. Crichton finds this both encouraging and frustrating; he
desperately wants to find the real Earth, and realizes only too
well that creating another wormhole may be his only chance of ever
getting home...

SHEYANGS
The Sheyangs are a dreadful race of scavengers; all their
technology has been stolen from others. They are fierce and
bloodthirsty fighters, but of limited intelligence; they can
be bluffed, as Zhaan and D'Argo fortunately discovered.
Moya was attacked by a Sheyang vessel and came close to
being destroyed by its massive Plasma Cannon. A lone
Sheyang also went after Crichton and Aeryn, whereupon they
discovered that Sheyangs have the disconcerting ability to
breathe fire. All in all, a species one should
definitely avoid.
