DRAKS
[ DRAKS ] We came across a swarm of these unusual beings while attempting to hide from a Peacekeeper Marauder. We didn't find out until later that they had infected Moya...

The Draks appear to have several stages of development:

1. The "swarm" -- gigantic "clouds" made up of spore-like forms that can survive in vacuum and hence travel through space.

2. The "cockroach" (Crichton dubbed it thus as it apparently resembles some sort of Earth insectoid form) -- a multilegged, quick-moving creature with a shell-like exoskeleton.

3. The "replicants" -- as defense, Draks can create new artificial beings that resemble other lifeforms and can even mimic their behavior, though they lack the power of speech.

4. The "Monarch" -- the queen of the Drak colony who builds and maintains the breeding nest. Unable to communicate with us directly, the Drak Monarch that invaded Moya also invaded Zhaan's body in order to make her demands known.
